About Chef Sabine
My name is Sabine, I am born and raised in Hamburg, North Germany. I discovered at a very young age that I love to bake and cook. With my mom as inspiration as well as the encouragement from friends and family, I began to bake again after moving to San Diego in 2000 and missing the traditional old –world German and European style breads.
In the beginning it was just simple and quick, but over the years my interest and understanding for sophisticated and really good quality of bread grew as well as my confidence. Now baking, and cooking, has become more of a therapeutic and relaxing outlet for me. Getting my hands dirty with sticky dough and having to patiently wait for the results after each step.
Fast forward, I am on a new journey, this time in a workshop/classroom setting passing on my knowledge, passion and skills to other bread lovers that are interested in adding a more nutritious and home made bread to their daily diet.
After all, there is nothing quite like the amazing smell of a freshly baked loaf out of your own oven and enjoying the first slice of homemade bread just with grass-fed butter and a bit of salt. The combination of the smell, the delicious wholesome taste will be something that will encourage you to want to never stop baking.
Teaching Style
"Everyone can bake bread” is my approach for healthy home baked bread. Baking yourself a loaf of delicious bread is a great alternative of the same old breads we find at the grocery store. I like to encourage people and introduce how easy it is to add a healthy, wholesome bread that you can enjoy guilt free on a daily basis.
Classes are based on practical and easy to follow instructions. I keep them simple and allow even the busiest of baker to bake a flavorful bread at home. I guide each person to become enthusiastic about becoming a modern bread baker by sharing my passion and understanding of baking.
All of my recipes only require basic household equipment and tools.
I hope you join me on your next bread baking journey, may it be by perfecting your simple "No Knead Bread" or by mastering your first real sourdough fresh out of your oven. I am here to help guide, teach and help you in achieve your bread baking goals.
My hands on workshops or classes are categorized into different baking levels with step-by- step instructions to help you succeed at home.
